What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to drive commercial growth across a portfolio of luxury train journeys designed for the world’s most discerning travellers.
Based in Rome, this role will focus on developing international sales opportunities across MICE, private charters, incentive groups, celebrations, and high-end leisure travel, while positioning luxury rail as a distinctive and highly desirable experiential offering worldwide.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in luxury hospitality, luxury travel, MICE, private events or experiential travel, with proven experience in building relationships with international partners and converting complex, high-value opportunities into confirmed business.
Key Activities:
- Develop and execute international sales strategies for luxury train experiences, with a strong focus on MICE, charters, private groups, and strategic leisure accounts
- Identify and convert new business opportunities across incentive travel, corporate groups, buyouts, celebrations, and bespoke journeys
- Build and manage relationships with key international partners, including luxury travel advisors, DMCs, event agencies, corporate clients, tour operators, and high-end consortia
- Position luxury rail travel as a unique platform for exclusive events, private journeys, brand activations, incentives, and once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences
- Represent the brand at global trade shows, luxury travel events, MICE forums, and industry networking opportunities
- Work closely with operations, reservations, product, and marketing teams to ensure seamless client proposals and exceptional pre-travel planning
- Collaborate with marketing teams to align sales initiatives with brand positioning, storytelling, and destination-led campaigns
- Monitor sales performance, identify market trends, and develop new commercial opportunities across international markets
- Ensure an exceptional pre-travel experience for elite clients, partners, and group organisers from initial enquiry to confirmed journey
Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of senior sales experience in luxury hospitality, luxury travel, MICE, private events, or experiential travel
- Proven experience in developing and converting MICE, group, charter, or high-value bespoke travel business
- Strong international network within the luxury travel, hospitality, DMC, incentive, and event agency ecosystem
- Solid understanding of premium client expectations, complex travel logistics, and tailor-made experiences
- Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and drive revenue growth
- Fluency in English and Italian; additional languages are a plus
- Willingness to travel internationally to attend trade shows, client meetings, and industry events
- Passion for luxury travel, train journeys, destination storytelling, and exceptional guest experiences
