SENIOR BUYER

What We’re Looking For

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, and services in line with the requests of the Project Management Department, ensuring the best contractual purchasing conditions in terms of quality, cost, payment terms, and delivery times/methods.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage suppliers by researching and selecting new Italian and international vendors, evaluating their technical capabilities, delivery reliability, and quality.
  • Monitor pricing trends among current and potential suppliers through market trend analysis.
  • Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers (economic and contractual conditions, timing, costs, quantities, and delivery methods).
  • Purchase raw materials, goods, and services to meet business procurement needs in terms of cost, quality, and delivery deadlines.
  • Perform daily analysis of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) exceptions to ensure alignment between production requests and purchase order issuance.
  • Manage supplier master data and pricing information, including entry and issuance of purchase orders.
  • Develop relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, commercial conditions).

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:
  • Degree in Engineering, Economics, or an equivalent field.
  • Experience in the railway sector.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Good knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Business Central Navision, SAP) and MRP logic.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • At least 5 years of prior experience in a similar role.
