PROJECT ENGINEER

Who We’re Looking For

  • Project Planning & Design: Define electrical scope and requirements for rolling stock projects, leading the design and development of onboard electrical systems and specifications. Conduct feasibility studies and propose optimal technical solutions aligned with cost, safety, and industry standards.
  • Implementation & Supervision: Oversee installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems across train projects. Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams, conducting on-site inspections and resolving technical issues.
  • Risk & Quality Assurance: Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring adherence to design, safety, and quality standards. Perform quality checks to prevent non-conformities and project delays.
  • Cost & Resource Control: Contribute to budgeting, cost estimation, and resource planning. Monitor expenditures and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate technical documentation, drawings, and compliance reports. Prepare regular progress updates and presentations for management and stakeholders.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities meet railway regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in rolling stock or railway electrical systems
  • Knowledge of TSIs, EN, IEC, and railway-specific standards
  • Experience with electrical design software
  • Familiarity with project management tools
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in Italian and English
  • Professional Engineering License (preferred but not mandatory)
